Ultra RARE 1956 Sylvania TV Award Trophy Art Deco Figural Mystery Jefferson Clock. Up for sale is an ultra rare vintage original Stlvania Television Award. The precursor to the Emmy Awards, the Sylvania Television Award was a scarce national prize given for Outstanding Contributions To Creative Television Technique. These amazing trophies were issued between 1951 – 1959 only. Sylvania is a masterful art deco style trophy in the form of a prestigious timepiece. Some of the recipients are Rod Sterling, Steve Allen, Walt Disney, Jan Wyatt and Fred Rogers; pioneers that transformed the early American television landscape. This statue / mantel clock / award is in very good condition, has been a display in a private collection, shows light wear on the wood – see pictures. The clock has been plugged in and the mechanism works, hands are moving. The clock mechanism is marked on the back “Jefferson Electric Company”, a small metal plaque attached to the back, on the wood, reads “Medallic Art Co Of New York”.
